I've been fortunate in this life to be able to travel with my husband to view some beautiful places in the last twenty-five years. At times I've stood in awe, speechless, and amazed at the wonderful sites that I gazed upon. All of these images helped me to create my own definition of "Beauty". Many times you can see beauty in the faces of those close by or even things in your own backyard. The term beauty has been around for ages and if you ask five or maybe even five hundred people you will probably get a different response every time. I like how Webster defines beauty - http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/beauty. It does bring about pleasure to your mind as it refreshes your soul and leaves you wanting to soak it up and absorb it for later use. In my mind's eye I feel my daughters are the epitome of beauty! I can see beauty close to home, in my backyard looking at the trees dance in the wind, listening to the birds sing a beautiful song, and watching the colorful flowers bloom. Regardless of where you are on this earth all you have to do is seek the beauty and you'll find it. Maybe in the faces of the people close to you, watching the children play, or maybe in the quiet stillness of the night sky! I have a few beautiful pictures that I would like to share with you over the next few weeks. You will find them linked to this page, but please feel free to comment and upload your own images of what you've found to be beautiful in this world.

Wow! I love your point of view regardng beauty. Many people think that beauty is a certain image or a manufactured product but I like to think that beauty can be found in the simple things in life. I think that it is awesome that you place so much value on your family. If everyone could find the beauty in each other, the world would be a better place. When I picture beauty in my mind, I think of my nieces and nephews smiling and laughing. I have 4 nephews and 3 nieces that mean the world to me. I love seeing life through their innocent eyes. Beauty really is all around us if we stop focusing on all our problems to find it.
Hi Jen,
I appreciate your comments. You are so right if we could stop and see the real beauty in this world I think we would all be a lot happier with the small things in life! I like what you said about your nieces and nephews because kids are so innocent as they go about their little exciting adventures.
Beauty is all around us! I love seeing the sights and looking for things that I have never seen before. If you get an opportunity post a pic of your favorite site! Here are a few of mine. I am still working on getting my older pics digitalized. Any advice?

I hope that sometime in my life, I can travel as you have and see the beautiful things around the world! Beauty can be found in the simple things. As you see beauty in your children, I see beauty in the eyes of my students!
I am currently in Tennessee visiting family and there is so much of God's created beauty all around me. My son has a home in the Great Smoky Mountains. I stepped out on his back porch today and was in such awe of the view. Mountains and blue skies all around. It was truly breathtaking.
Jessica and Kathy,
You both have made some interesting connections to my post.
I love the way Jessica can see the beauty in her students because that is what we need to do so that we can appreciate and respect them deep down to their little souls.
Kathy, I am so jealous right now. Tennessee is so pretty. I'd say that you are surrounded by beautiful things. Not only that but the breathing in that mountain air. Wow. Enjoy your special time with the family while you are taking it all in.
Class,
How do I add more photos on this page? After I made my initial blog I have had a very difficult time trying to figure out how to link photos with my comments. Do I have to make a new blog page everytime I want to update this blog with more of my personal photos?
As we look around. What do we see? Really, what do we see? Do you see beauty in everything? It is really sad to think about so many people that do not have vision to see life unfold before their eyes. I think those people can find it in their mind's eye or deep in their soul. If they can seek beauty it should be so much easier for us. Hopefully, we can see all that life has in store for us. I know that as we go about our busy lives we have problems and cares but let's stop and take a minute to see life as God has planned it! Life is beautiful and it is worth so much appreciation.
Beauty can easily be seen in the eyes of children or the smile of gratitude from a stranger. Obviously, it is so easy to see it in our own family and the faces that we have grown to love, but I want to take time each day to see the beauty that God has given me. I just can't afford to take advantage of this unique gift we call sight!
I shink some of the most beautiful things in life are things that mother nature created. Flowers, butterflies, mountains, waterfalls, and oceans are all so beautiful. It is such a shame that some people try to destroy these natural beauties of the world. they offer people such pleasures and good times that we need to do what we can to make them last forever.
Angie,
Isn't that the truth. Our global responsibility to this Earth is huge and we should all do our part to go green. I think we should teach our students the importance of keeping our atmosphere healthy. If we don't pass this along to our students it is a possiblility that no one else will either.
